We have been inspired by illuminated manuscripts, especially those depicting medieval hunting scenes.  Pretty sweet imagery. That is why we re-enacted one in this top photo - everyone wants a piece.  This rat has been given the works; a layer of glaze, red china paint, and gold luster all applied by hand. It almost appears that half the rat has been wrapped, the way the pattern starts to obliterate the form.  There is more to come in this series, so look out.  (we are only getting started)
